The type of flooding and level of damage will determine whether or not it’s safe for you to remain in your property while we carry out the restoration. Our initial assessment will give us all the information we need to advise you whether it’s necessary to secure alternative accommodation until the cleaning is complete.

How long the restoration process takes depends on the type and severity of the flooding. Minor damage from a clean water source may only take a few days to remedy, whereas severe flooding could take as long as two weeks. Certain types of damage such as sewage leaks and storm flooding require more in-depth sanitisation to ensure that it’s safe for you to return.

There are three main types of water responsible for damage: clean water, greywater and blackwater. Clean water comes from sanitary sources such as your home’s plumbing system and doesn’t pose a significant risk to your health. Greywater includes lightly used water from baths, showers, washing machines and dishwashers that hasn’t been contaminated by chemicals or biohazards. The most dangerous type of water damage is caused by blackwater, which contains significant levels of contaminants and includes sewage, seawater, and water from rivers or streams.

To minimise your stress during this difficult time, we’re happy to work directly with your insurance provider on your behalf. This includes listing inventory, documenting the damage with photographs and a detailed inspection report, and providing a quote for the restoration work. Following completion of your cleaning and restoration, we’ll issue your insurance company with a final report and invoice to finalise your claim.
